Sorry but i have to say this.

I have been reading with interest all the replies etc about the LIDL dish and receiver etc.

Ok the receiver etc was good value but why in gods name do you not just spend a few bob and get a decent dish.I have not seen this LIDL dish etc (i can only gauge the quality by the price) but I am sure it is just a pisspot .

By the irelandssatellite ie ,he sells a good triax and an lnb for a good price,

for a dish for the portable in the bedroom will do just fine! IF it will
work with a SKY digibox, so if someone would be kind enough to let me know if it would i would be grateful!

THe Lidl one is Analogue, so I doubt its going to work with Sky Digital.

Good for maybe picking up **** German channels, but then I hear even their 60s pron stuff is gone nowadays.

(Not that I know anything, I just overheard 2 people who do know talking...)

At €59.00 for that setup it is a steal.

The dish will work BUT make sure the LNB says UNIVERSAL on it. I have not been to LIDL so can't check for u. If it is not universal then u will have to fork out more.

    good luck

the dish doesnt care what type of signal it recieves and the lnb is a good acer .6db universal which will work fine with digital.only the lidl reciever limits the system to analog.

Well? Did you get one? Does it work with a Sky Digibox?

The queues were long at most Lidl stores - but I managed to get one.

The English language Stations lineup is really bad - so I would be interested in connecting it to a sky digibox or other digital receiver.

I dont need a card for the sky digibox for the BBC stations do I?

    ta.

    http://www.lidl.co.uk/gb/index.nsf/pages/c.o.oow.20030821.p.Satellite_System

Heres the spec for the dish. The LNB is universal (22KHz switching) although it's single output

I bought one today and have spent most of this evening setting it up. As well as the German stuff on Astra Ive picked up stuff from as far afield as Egypt and Morocco on the other satellites.

One problem Im haing with it at the moment though is I cant get any Horizontally polorised channels, Only Vertical ones. One of the reasons I got it was so my housemate could watch Kurdish (Medya) and Turkish (TRT) channels on hotbird but said channels are all Horizontal :-(

You can always switch to horizontal manually by twisting the LNB 90 degrees. :D

Ive spend most of today trying to get the damn thing to recieve Horizontal channels.

Checked output voltage from reciever 13/17 Volts OK
Checked cable OK (actually the supplied cable works suprisingly well given that it looks like cheap crappy flylead)
Tried rotating the LNB. Vertical Channels now appear as Horizontal but still no sign of the Horizontals. (it will get Verticals from Astra, Hotbird and some unidentified satellite carrying North African stuff (Egypt and Morocco)
Rang up a mate who works for a professional installer and hes as mystified as I am.

    Any ideas

maybe alignment isn't quite right and the verticals are lower strength or whatever??

I'm baffled. Rotatating the LNB 90 would get horizontals on Vertical setting and Vice versa, so fact that you have to select hjorizontal to get vertical when you do that proves the H/V PSU is OK and LNB is OK.

Is LO on box set to 9.75 lo and 10.6 hi ?

    Sounds wired.

Get rid of the toy washing line though and put real cable as that stuff is poor for higher channels and causes interference to nearby ordinary TVs from lower channels (point a Set Top aerial on TV at the cable, point dish Astra 19E and then tune the TV on upper half of UHF. Depending if Sat Rex is on H or V you will get a different 3 or 4 channels on TV set via aerial!)

I would just like to say yes the sky digibox does work on the dish that comes with the campin satellite system. Just one question, im living in ireland and does anyone know how to tune in talksport in properly to this fta system because the channel appeares but there is no sound. And alot of the channels that appear on fta on the digibox dont appear on the lidl box, does anyone know how to tune them in or something? iv tried the automatic tuning but that only comes up with a certine amount of channels.

A Lidl dish WILL work with a Sky digibox

As for Talksport It is (as far as I know) encrypted and unavailable in the Irish republic (or on UK FTV or FTA setups) however you could always try 1053 or 1089 mediumwave (although unless you live on the Eastern seaboard or near the border its pretty much impossible to get it during daylight hours without a good outdoor aerial)

It is only available with a UK Sky family pack subscription or higher.

I wonder if this will change now it's owned by UTV (if that has gone through)
