I'd be inclined to think southern. But I'm crap at geography, so maybe not. How much of Africa is in the norther hemisphere?

Its definitely the Northern Hemisphere with the most countries.

Compare the north with all of Europe, all of Asia, north of Africa, North America.

    to

The south you have South of Africa, South America, then theres a few island countries.

How do you count Equador and other countries that lie across the equator ?

Ah but most of the countries in the Northern Hemisphere are larger countries than the island countries you will find in indonesia and oceania. Therefore I think it is more than likely the Southern Hemisphere.

Much of Oceania comprises terrritoies, not countries, so you would have to be careful doing the counting.

Of course you could just start another civil war in Yugoslavia to upset the balance.

picked this info up once upon a time and it breaks down someut like
out of UN countries ~190, about 150-160 are north and mostof the rest are clear south with a handfull or two on the line
