Western union is good and quick.

Are you concerned about the speed in transfer ?
Do the costs of transfering it concern you ?

it can take up to 2weeks, and i would like to keep the costs to a minimum. isnt western union expensive?

3 ways in which i send/get money from UK

    a) Thomas Cook (Moneygram), although i think it can work out to be ppretty expensive if i remember correctly, 12 pound sterling i think it was for every 100 sterling sent... (dont know if it stops after a certain amount)

    b) sterling/bankers draught, this is the way i sent the money home that i owed last time, was charged something like 2.50 if i remember rightly and i sent 300 euro, registered post, was there in 2 days.

    c) regular post... (which is obviously out of the question for the amount you are sending

This means your cousin would have to pay the exchange charges.

Please be aware of potential scams involving Western Union. Wire transfer from bank account to bank account is about as safe as you can get.

ulster bank charge me around €9-10 each time for a monthly wire transfer to my uk account. Its set up just like a standing order so you can set it up and forget about it.

Sterling draft (just like a cheque) is less than half that, although you gotta get to the branch to do it. Then of course you gotta post it as well tho......

If you ever want to transfer serious money (1,000's) you should ask for the business rate of exchange, the min for this varies between banks but is better than the standard 'rob the tourist' rate.

If you're feeling brave you can play them off against each other.

American Express shops also do wire transfer....
