I am looking for recommendations for a nice place abroad to spend a week and my newborn baby in early October, who will be 4 months old then.

Somewhere warm, interesting and that welcomes children.

    Thanks

Want to spend circa €350 to €750 on flights for the three of us.
Europe definately to keep the flight as short as possible.

Head over to England for a week. Alton towers and such. When the child gets a bit older I would highly recommend Florida.

Prague is cool for family because its cheap and loads of flights going.
Belgium off course, but NOT brussels, do Brugge, Antwerp or Ghent, slighty higher priced then an eastern block country.
Spain but try to avoid the 'Costa's' unless you wanne mix with the zillion other tourists on the beaches.
France is in flames so that rules itself out.

Some airlines might let the baby travel for free, check out if they do.
Try the south of France, there are daily direct flights from Dublin and Cork, and it will be mild in october, you could hire a car, cruise on a boat, visit Italy, just up the road etc
The flight to Nice is about 2.5 hours

Check out Sunway Holidays for an late bargains on package holidays. Was looking at their special offers and they look quite good.

Remember babies under six months should be kept out of the sun at all times

Try Lanzarotte, I was there two years ago in Sept. October should be perfect temperature wise for baby. I was there two years ago, 3.5 hour flight, your baby should sleep right through (motion), presuming your baby sleeps in the car.

Don't forget to feed baby during takeoff & landing to help the ears 'pop'.

Dr evil is correct, keep baby out of sun

Er.. consider leaving baby behind. Its you that needs the holiday, Baby doesn't care as long as his/her arse is clean & belly full (just like the rest of us!).

Thanks, I hadn't thought of Lanzarote.
Definately keeping baby out of sun and away from mobile phones !
Would like to go on our own of course but need to bring her with us though, as breast feeding duties are hard to pass on and saving brownie points with families for other more urgent times that may be ahead!

try stein travel for your hol's.

They fly out from Knock Airport - car parking is a lot cheaper than Dublin, so I'm told.

I was in barcelona in december and it was great. Lots of things to do but its not as touristy as the costas. The weather was lovely and mild in december - i'd imagine it would be a bit hotter in october. People are really friendly there and the city is very interesting, particularly architecturally. Food and drink was nice and very reasonable.

Cheers, it sounds like Barcelona is the best spot
