    Electric eels are native to South America and are distributed from Orinoco to the Amazon

    Conger Eels tho can be caught off the Irish coast, have landed a few myself fishing on boats out of Killybegs. Ugly nasty creatures :)

    i landed a 9 ft conger eel before better have a good metal trace or they'll bit right tho ur line. Never got electric eels tho :p but i heard there a fresh water eels also :)

    :rolleyes: not really angling, but I caught an octopus of the pier in Rosslare harbour when I was a kid
