FTV cards, the big Switch off has commenced

    Sky have started disabling the old type FTV cards. My dad got the message of doom this morning.
    He said it was something like
    "This viewing card is not authorised. Please call this number xxxx"
    So there you are.:(

    Wow, that's the best mainstream media article I've read on the subject. Hats off to Nick Higham for doing his research properly.

    From tha article mentioned above:

    "Around 56,000 Solus cards were reissued before the BBC stopped funding the service and they will go on working."

    this would seem to suggest type 2 cards are safe for the time being. Phew!
