    From ENN today.
The Irish Times reports that Data Electronics and Canadian-owned Axia are among those bidding for a contract to manage Ireland's EUR65 million regional broadband network. The ten-year franchise contract will give the winning bidder the right to manage Government-owned telecoms networks covering 19 regional towns. Local authorities are building the fibre optic networks with Exchequer funding in a bid to increase the amount of regional telecoms services.

Being quite close to the whole broadband program it seems that there hasn't been too much interest in the MSE. Excluding current Irish telco licence holders ruled a lot orf them out.
