Man Utd's lack of big signings

I support Man Utd and i know Sir Alex is trying 2 bring youth into man utd such as bellion, howard and djemba djemba. But he has just given Real madrid a better chance of winning the champions league by selling Beckham and weakening man utds squad by selling Veron who i had faith in this year. I think he should buy Vieri. What about u. Who do u think he should bring in with 40 million in his pocket at d moment?

I wasn't best pleased at veron sale, but u got to trust fergie. He should sign Defoe, Van der vaart and Thuram. And if theres any money left go for andy reid and frank lampard after that!

Dont be ridiculous. Our squad is fine ONCE we get another defender(puyol is a damn good player) and striker/att mid.

Lampard is one of the best midfielders in the PL his all round game is superb. if you believe the sun People Van Der Vart De Foe Deco and Puyol will all be joining Utd next week.

The Sun is actually the most accurate tabloid in dealing with transfers. They were confident abou Becks going before anyone else. They were on top constantly about the ronaldinho saga and the first to tell how it collapsed. There quite accurate and they never said deco will be coming to Utd puyol or van der vart. They said Defoe and are convinced that will go through. And vieira reckons he will sign his new 100g contract a week on monday. Lets wait and see...there usually right. I dont buy the peace of **** ever. The website is all i go to sometimes.

Cristiano Ronaldo is apparently on the way. He'd be a great lad for the 4-2-3-1 formation but he's only 18 so again it's a case of buying potential rather than proven talent.

They need an experienced defender and quick. I don't know why they didn't splash the cash on Chivu when he was going. Puyol is one of the last players Barca will let go given than he's catalan (i think) and a big favourite with the crowd. They may be strapped for cash but they be slammed for letting him go.

Van der Vaart is another beast but he's only 20 or so too.

If solskjaer gets injured who do they put on the right? If Giggs gets injured who plays left wing? In Butt, Keane, Djemba and Kleberson they now have four defensive midfielders.

Something doesn't add up. Maybe they've got a stack of transfers lined up but they'd want to get the aul skates on.

Djemba can play on the right. Ferguson believes kleberson is very versatile. I dont know for sure but the boss says so.

That Ronaldo is basically prooven. hes an unbelieveable player.

I dunno is Djemba that creative? I got the feeling he was a talented bruiser could be wrong. Kleberson is amazing from what I can see, but he doesn't look like a lab to skip past someone and lay a cross onto RVN's head or a through ball his feet. No more than Roy Keane can really.

Ronaldo is brilliant by just about everyone's account but I dunno new country, new language, the fucking city of Manchester at 18 it's a lot too be asking for him to start.

No your right. Kleberson aint a Ronaldinho but i dont know what exactly he can do. Just going by watFerguson said. Im looking forward to him. Cant wait to see if Djemba starts tomorrow and what formation they use.

I'd say fergie will buy a big name defender and attacker by the end of the month.

Puyol for 16 to 20 million, Barcelona are willing to listen to offers, and Puyol is willing to leave to help Barce financially, according to planetfootball anyway,

Defoe? would ten million get him? the should have gone for Joe Cole, 9 million for him is good business

defoe will be joining man united in the next few weeks, from the same source who told me last month cole was joining chelsea

    The Sun then ye?

I don't think fergie will spend 16 Million on a defender. I know he did break the bank with Rio but he may have learned his lesson. Rio is a quality player but Fergie was left with no money for signings in January last year.

I think he will try to sign Trabelski and if he gets him he will not move for Puyol. I think Kleberson will be playing right side this year.

all he needs is a CB and a striker.

Puyol is a definite possibility. Barca have said that he is available for the right price (which means ManU get ripped off again:D ).

I think Defoe is not an option - following the cash injection from Chesea Roeder has been given control of whether players are sold or not. Defoe would love to go I think but Roeder is going to keep him, happy or not. 2 years left on his contract also.

Don't think Van Der Vaart is available to anyone. If he does become available there will most likely be competition to sign him.

As for Christiano Ronaldo - I would be worried if he went to United. He is most likely an excellent prospect and I think he's available for 6 - 10 mil (a price that has put off most teams so far).

I think that United should swoop for players like Totti who must be fed up at Roma because of the lack of European football. They should also swoop for Aimar who would be perfect for United because they badly need an attacking midfielder.Saviola would be an other class signing and it is a possibility since Barcelona said they would listen to offers for any of their players.

Scholes does a fine job as the link up man.

He hasn't got 40mil from those two transfers - Real paid about 5mil up front for Beckham, the rest of it is contingent on performances, similar for Veron I believe.

The players he has got looked perfectly good yesterday, Howard looks a good keeper, Djemba looks good too, they'll be fine.

    They always bloody are :)

Totti has said in the past that the only club outside Italy which interests him is Real Madrid. Personally, I don't think he'd be able to handle the Premiership.

I think we just need another cb like Puyol and a top attacking player like Eto or that 18 yr old Prodigy from Lisbon.

I heard on sky sports arsenal are rumoured to be linked with samuel eto, True or false anyone? man u should buy eto, totti or thuram or vieri and i think djemba played great yesterday he was looking for the ball defending attacking i think he is gonna b a hot prospect in d premiership this year. If barcelona are open to any offers i think brian o leary is right in saying they should swoop for saviola. how come there is no speculation on sky sports of man u signings its always chelsea.

I'd be delighted if Man U get the players they were linked with over the w/e.
Deco, Van der Vart, Puyol/Trabelski and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Deco was excellent in the Uefa Cup Final and could be a revelation playing off RVN.
Van Der Vaart would replace Beckham quite well.
Cristiano Ronaldo is an excellent striker and young.
Puyol and Trabelski would add a bit of steel and bite to the defence which is something Utd have lacked for a while now.

I think Ferguson has changed his transfer strategy to getting players with potential (on the way up) rather than established players.
I think this is the right way to go to be honest.
It's always better to get a player on the way up rather than established ones.

Eh you can all keep Vieri...i dont want a 30 yr old fart who would want 100,000 pound a week.

Totti would be like Veron in the premiership. And hes temperamental in Europe.

Cian O'Keefe...are you by any chance from Kerry?
