    Will the riva tnt work as a decoder for mpeg2 movies for the aul dvd drive?

    No.

    It doesn't have decoder hardware built onto it. It'll work fine with softDVD decoders though.

    Might be incompatible with some hardware cards though - tread carefully if you're buying. The TNT is a nice accelerator, but as compatability goes, it's a piece of ****. I've been battling to get one working with an Iomega Buz for months...
