Right o, hello folks, needa bit of help here. Hav to get present sorted for girlfriend and i dont want to go down the traditional route of big daft card, flowers n chocolate. That rules out a lot of options but i just remember the other day that she told me ages ago she always wished she could swim with a dolphin or go horse riding on a beach, thought if i could sort one of these out for her it would be nicer than the usual stuff. So anyone know where you can swim with dolphins in ireland? :P lol that sounds ridiculous but please if anyone can help me lemme no n thanks a million.

If I dressed up as an equine-type-dolphin, she could combine her wishes to ride a horse and, uhm, go diving with dolphins...

i'd say you can do it down in dingle, co. kerry. not sure if my old mate funghi will make an appearance but they do have organised trips out on boats to see him and his girlfriends and i'm sure you can organise to swim with them as well.

And if that didn't work out there are loads of horse riding places around there, o'connors out in the maharees does brilliant trekking along the beach (its a really nice long sandy beach) where you can gallop around. There's also a place called goodwins down there, but it's not as good imo.

Bring her on a day trip to Finglas.

Is this a good time to recall www.dolphinsex.org ?

Dingle's probably your best bet. Actually swimming with him would probably involve renting out your own boat, unless they've changed in the last few years it's almost completely boats stuffed with people just going out to see him, then going back.

You will find dolphins in the Shannon Estuary and near belmullet in Mayo. I'm not sure how amenable they are to swimmers.

You will sometimes see porpoises (and seals) near Dalkey Island. I'm sure you can hire a small boat in one oif the harbours in Dalkey.
