Well, I guess it depends on which book of the Bible you're reading from. I think in the earlier ones He wanted blood sacrifices, but then changed his mind (something about the blood being displeasing to him). Then it was animal sacrifices, but that ended as well.

Then there's the ten commandments, which are basic moral codes found in a couple of ancient near eastern societies at the time (although slightly more advanced).

    Also what is His name?
YHWH (YaHWeH), Elohim, God, Allah. Although I don't think you can say (or spell) it in Judaism.

    Ok,

Take it you believe in a trinity then.
    My question, Why???

Also its not Judaism. The scriptures were written in Hebrew. I will have to look it up[ where it was think it is Exodus 3:15 but thats just of the top of my head.

For what it is worth, IHMO God's requirement to each of us is to grow, and transcend what we are, into something better in accordance to the scriptures which laid down the guidelines.

Regarding his name, we aren't on first name basis as yet, but if I'd hazard a guess, Bono? :)

God has meny names, the one I like most is "Jehovah Rapha" which means " The Lord That Healeth Thee"

    other stuff includes these...

    Taken from
    www.freegrace.et

Jehovah-Hoseenu - The Lord Our Maker.
    Jehovah-Jireh—The Lord will Provide.
    Jehovah-Rapha—The Lord will Heal.
    Jehovah-Nissi—The Lord our Banner.
Jehovah-M’kaddesh - The Lord That Doth Sanctify You.
    Jehovah-Shalom—The Lord our Peace.
    Jehovah-Raah—The Lord our Shepherd.
    Jehovah-Tsidkenee—The Lord our Righteousness.
    Jehovah-Shammah—The Lord is Present.
Jehovah-Jesus - The Lord Will Save.

Hs for what God wants from us?
He wants us to know him personally and to live our lifes to honour him as best we can.
And I am only too happy to do this,
like Paul says in Philippians 3:4-15

    4
though I myself have reasons for such confidence. If anyone else thinks he has reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more:
    5
    circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; in regard to the law, a Pharisee;
    6
as for zeal, persecuting the church; as for legalistic righteousness, faultless.
    7
But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ.
    8
What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ
    9
and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ--the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith.
    10
I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,
    11
and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.
    12
Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.
    13
Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,
    14
I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
    15
All of us who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you.

First off can I ask where di you get all those names from???

Sounds more like his name is Jehovah to me or as it says in Exodus YHWH which is His name in hewbrew.

Jehovah is a rough translation as not even we are sure if they are the real names. But because we want to show Him respect we try to say his name to the best ability and so far that is the best we have done. Even the other names in the Scriptures aren't fully correct as they were written in Hebrew and Greek. Sorry forgot the shared language for the old testament. but it is mostly Hebrew.

Anyway. I agree with your second part of your answer.

    anyway any other comments appreciated

Why does attributing a name to God mean giving Him respect? I know this works in interactions between human beings, but surely God - being God and all - is above such human concerns. In Judaism, like i said, they won't say - or write - his name, so as not to offend Him.

I would've put in what the New Testament God wanted from us - like what Seanah did, but for some reason got caught up on what the Old Testament God wanted. It can be confusing at times.
