Does anybody know anything about a variation of Sky Sports 2 for Eire?

I have heard it launches on 16th August.

I don't know if it is just ad variations, or programming as well.

At the same time last year the offer was 64 euros last year. Just a saving of 8 euro this year owing to the stronger euro against sterling. Sky give a big discount. Me thinks NOT!

When Sky launch an Irish Channel (such as SS2 Eire), they mean that the only content aimed specifically at Irish viewers will be the advertising.

AFAIK Sky have never showed any programming in Ireland that differed from the UK programming. I would be surprised if they had any intentions of doing so.

This question is also posted in another forum

It could be - you have an Eire card?

It was on all cards (inc. UK) until yesterday

I hate to be splitting hairs here but noone has called this country Eire for about 60 years. The preferred name is the Republic of Ireland. Pehaps some of our British contributers haven't noticed but we ceased to be part of the United Kingdom a long time ago.

Right, and we've had that discussion on another thread.

    Let go.

To be fair DMC, Corkviewer has a valid point, and he may have missed the other thread.

Nope, he did contribute to the other thread too.

Point or not, no politics here.

    Thank you, come again.
