Mac Problems on BB

    Hi,

Ive started having this problem ever since I got IOL BB.. At the moment it's connected to my PC (running WinXP) And I have a wireless connection for my laptop (and my dad, who also runs WinXP, and doesnt experience the problems I have). My problem is that while most sites work alright - I get download speeds of > 50kB/sec. Ive checked the latency for the hop between the wireless link, and it's less than 2ms.

The main problem is that certain websites dont load up, at all, the progress indicator just keeps going, but nothing happens. Specific examples are www.google.ie, www.yahoo.com, www.lastminute.com, www.iol.ie (and all subdomains) etc. Also Im unable to connect to Software Update anymore. If I dial-up, I have no problem. It's only with IOLBB..

    I have no firewalls/proxies..

Would getting a separate dsl modem/router/wireless help (Since I dont like leaving WinXP on 24/7 anyway)

    Thanks

Are you using XP's built-in internet connection sharing? If so, you may need to upgrade to service pack 1 for it to work properly with DSL. Either that, or change the MTU on all the client computers to something less than 1492. The first option is rather easier.
