I'm not too sure bout posting this thread here, it doesnt seem to fit anywhere else. My friend got this message on his computer and he is scared shi*lss. I think its a hoax as he was browsing porn sites at the time. Wondering did anyone else get this pop up ever?

Looks like a hoax to me, those sort of pages are easy to knock up.

Some company useing scare tatics to sell some **** program

i wouldnt worry about it

feck you could be surfing pc zone and get a pop up "YOUR PC,S IP CAN BE TRACKED blablablabla"

and tell him lay of the porn he could go blind

I got that before, it's nothing to worry about it's just a scare tactic to get you to buy some software. Not saying it didn't scare the crap out of me when it happened

As for progs knowing your IP etc.. its easy.. look at Lenny's Sig for feck sake!!! It knows all

Ridiculous hoax. They use JScript to be able to view your HD in an iframe.

You're probably proxied at some point.

The sig gives me back my proxy's IP. And can't resolve my ISP. Probably because there isn't one *shrug*.

I've never seen such ****e spam though. That's really really low. A bit like someone posting a flyer into your letterbox pointing out everything immediately obvious about your house, and telling you the Gardai are on the way to search it :mad:

Don't worry about it at all. Most of the info can be grabbed from a HTTP* 1.1 header.
The rest is javascript.

*Protocol used by web servers and clients to request web pages.
