    I'm thinking it'll be a bit closer .... more like 4-0 :D

    Seriously, I'd say 2-1 or 1-1!

I'm looking forward to seeing the match ... I'll be knackered tomorrow, but it'll be worth it!!

Waht have you thought of VanN's performances so far ... I'd say he looks sharper than last season!!

3-2 to Juve. Keano to break his hip and Scholesy to get a 2 year ban for heroin addiction. Well, one can only wish. ;)

you should of seen the chip veron made to let van-N through to score

    pure class

You were not very far off there with your prediction Eric.
I Hear Veron put in a man of the match performance. I Didnt stay up to watch as I had to be up early for work. The Upside being I will be home to watch the 2.15 showing on MUTV.

Conflict reports on veron this morninng sky say he is moveing fergies say no . It will be interesting to see what happens there.

Joaquim apparently dreaming of a move to utd. I dont know much about him Will he be a good replacement for becks if he comes.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,414 ✭✭✭LoneGunM@n

    What a match!!

Veron played an absolute stormer .... hope this will settle him down now, because if he plays anywhere close to that from now on, he'll be impossible to remove from the 1st team!!!

I fell around my front room laughing @ 2 odd this morning when he made that pass!! He was inspiring & I think only 1 pass went astray the whole match!! He even got booked for a bad tackle ... @ least it was a tackle!! Every match up to now he should have been booked for a stand and watch the other team cruise through midfield whilst scratching arse :D

Ole and Neville were great down the right side ... Juve couldn't deal with them!!

Throughuot United played great ... but my MOTM is Veron!!

I didn't see the match so I can't comment on how good Man U were. They sounded impressive. I hope Veron stays. I know he had a poor first season but I thought last season was a vast improvement. People might forget that he was Injured for a long time last year. I have a feeling this year could he could prove a lot of his critics wrong.

The same happened with Andy Cole after his first two disastorous seasons. He was linked with a number of clubs before he decided to stay and have three of his best years of his carreer.

    Muppet:
Joaquim is apparently the Spainish Luis Figo. He played a few games for spain in the world cup and looked pretty impressive. You might remember the ball that he crossed over for Morientes(I Think) but it was controversially disallowed cause the ball went over the end line. He would be a good signing for Utd cause he is young and he keeps quiet.

I think Joaquin is using Man Utd as a bargaining tool with Betis or other Spanish team.
Aimar or Riquelme are both available wonder why noone going for them.

I definately think United should make a bid for Aimar ... For me, he was the only Argentinian who really performed in the last world cup!!

Ye JOAQUIN is a deadly player. Really impressive guy. He doesnt want to come to Utd. Born and raised Spanish are real big into family and relations and wouldnt want to leave Spain. He will end up at Real one day...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,006 ✭✭✭✭The Muppet

He doesnt want to come to Utd.

He is quoted as saying that he would be honoured at moving to utd and unable is to sleep at the prospect. i suppose that Sounds a bit like ronildhino a few weeks back. We'll Just have to see what happens

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 743 ✭✭✭UbahOne

Did you not hear what he said a few weeks back? he doesnt want to come to Utd. He doesnt want to leave Betis. His dad even said it. He doesnt want to come to Utd.

Where did you get that from?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 170 ✭✭Eron

I hope Man UTD don't get anyone, hell, I pray they don't get anyone, so we can watch the same boring team with the one line tapper, and the other striker that score.... (sarcasm by the way, I want to see the guys that beat Arsenal actually PLAY soccer...)

Oh yes, and don't quote me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,004 ✭✭✭Big Ears

this guy is Real class. iIsaw him in the world cup and a bit in the spanish league last season but its true that he dosn't want to leave Betis. Its just the media making up that he wants to go to united infact in spain they probably havent heard anything about this but someday betis will get an over they cant refuse hopefully from Newcastle

There were some quality goals on display today. Giggs' goal was class, van Nistelrooy's WORLD CLASS, Solskjaer's brilliant, forget who score Uniteds other one, Nedved's class.

Van Nistelrooy at the moment is better than Henry ever was IMO. He is fairly belting in some goals at the moment.

United's second goal scored by Paul Scholes .... drilled into the bottom left corner after a great pass by Ole

Where did you get that from?

It was a report os skys footbal news yesterday morning early.

Saw the match at 2.15 .If giggsy can do that all season who needs becks. Veron was excellent but the again he normally plays well against european competition where he is given time and space. His problem is in the prem where he has not perfomed to date i hope he proves me wrong and does the business next season if he stays. His Pass and Ruuds goal was class. Impressed by fortune at left back certainly able to hold his own there and good for cover. Howard looked good too will he be first choice next season? where is bartez? I wont comment on diegos miss . Good to see the old keano back as well. Hope he manages to stay on the pitch monday when he faces bugsy.
Overall a good performance beating the champions league runner up for the third time in a year

Well you could watch the match monday if you had it:D

It Shows a delayed of every utd premiership game. all the reserve matches and youth matches. I got it as a way of supporting the reds. Its not as gay as chelski tv. oH and it cost €8 a month

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 743 ✭✭✭UbahOne

I got it as a way of supporting the reds.

hmm id have to question that now...

hmm id have to question that now...

Well im not in a position to attend home matches so its one way of giving something back . I know its only €8 a month but sure its the tought that counts.BTW MUTV is owned by MU and the studio is in the theatre of dreams so i presume MU get the dosh.

Oh no I didn't mean it like that, I want to get the thing too. Do you need to have digital to get it? In the appartment I live in, we're not allowed have a satellite dish on the outside, it's against the lease or something...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,006 ✭✭✭✭The Muppet

I have my own dish . Im not sure if the cable companies carry it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,006 ✭✭✭✭The Muppet

    another good performance against barc.
Forlan had his sensible head on and got a brace. Fortune was excellent again at left back. Howard looked good making an excellent save from a free kick heading for the top corner.
Keano looked like his old self . Fletcher played fro the start and
looked comfortable. Oh and ruud got his name on the scoresheet as usual.

All in all UTD in the USA played 4 won 4 (comfortably ).can't say more than that with both forlan and ruud scoring 4 apiece. Looking forward to the mid week match Djemba Djemba and some of the new signings are available for it.

Yeah, it's €6.40 per month including vat in NTL Digital. I got it in just for the pre season matches but I think I might keep it for the rest of the season.

They show matches in full on delayed feed, but do they put ad breaks in during the games does anyone know?

No only at half time as far a I can remember.

They show saturday and sunday matches at midnight on sunday and midweek matches at midnight matchday.Or at least that what they did last season. They also show the matches at various times in the following week. Unless your exceptionally busy there is no excuse to miss a kick. Well worth the money IMO.

You can watch all the goals here

Cheers Muppet, I may keep it for the season and not bother with Sky Sports seeing as I won't be able to see any of the CL games on SSE.

Are all of Sky's champion League games going to be on SSE?

Wow I watched a lot of that game but I didn't catch that miss. Wow... I haven't the words.

As for Howard, I hope he gets to start as goalie. He's just too good to be sitting on a bench.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 743 ✭✭✭UbahOne

Forlans finishing looks better. But a lot of his goals he was unmarked for...such as diving header and tap in. Cant member the other two.

Best one by far was Verons pass to Van and WHACK...GOALLLLL!!!

Downloaded all of the goals scored and Bellions goal was nice too...Giggs was as well.

I just spoke to someone in NTL sales who said that there would be one match on Tuesday or Wednesday on either SS1, 2 or 3.
