A great era is upon us. GW Dublin now has a Monday Night Gaming.

The store closes at 6pm as per, but them opens at 6.30 for us old timer regulars to play the tow cores and all the others, Gothic, Play testing Epic Armageddon, Trevor is running a Blood Bowl Tournament, Paul is running or playing Inquistor, and best of all no one under 16 is allowed. HAhahahahahaha, no more f***ing little ****es talking tripe or resting against your board etc etc....

    Oh and you can paint!

Just thought yee should all know.

I live an hour and a half from the nearest GW......... thats before I even get INTO a city........ (can go belfast or dub, both same distance).

Needless to say Ive only ever been in a GW 4 times, twice on holiday and twice in Ireland.

Well it seems Blanch has the Diddlier (sp) back now so it should be the same. But Jonny runs a good game there from time to time.

Good to see the are opening the after work hours gaming to the punters now!

i'm on my way up to dublin next week and i was wondering about a few things? Which of the two shops in dublin is bigger? can you get access to a mail order catalouge there and could i get a game if i just walked in off the street with an army?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 31,967 ✭✭✭✭Sarky

There's a catalogue in all the stores, they're really about the same size, and getting a game depends on if the tables are already being used, and whether there's a free staff member or someone else who just walked in off the street with an army.

cheers do you also know of any other shops in dublin that do models besides gw?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 31,967 ✭✭✭✭Sarky

Nope, I'm a Galway person. Only get to GW in dublin on special occasions, like when someone nicks my passport.

Couple o' years ago i was orderin from mail order and the guy on the phone said gw had plans to extend into Ireland... in the next four years.

plus the "independant retailer" crap in white dwarf is useless, as the onlly no gw shop ive ever been to with a decent collection is The Hobby Shop in waterford.. one place has a few boxes of man o' war and its an idependant retailer???

havelock do you work in the GW stores? or are you just a very very very old customer (part of the furniture) :)

The GW in Edinburgh used to do the same thing, all you needed to do to get in was to get on with the staff and if the manager said it was ok you were in. Or is the veterans night your refering to?
