Thought we could do with a seperate thread for this as the UK one is a bit of a monster.

What are peoples thought on it?

It seems to me that on one hand its quite good, with all the ex'es, peoples willingness to shag and that scott guy losing the plot.

On the other hand the lack of audience voting kills it dead for me. The point of BB for me is that the BB constestants do not know what their jury are thinking. Contestant voting makes it just another Survivor clone that the seppos seem so fond of.

Plus, my god shoot the music composer....Lamest...title music...EVAR.

Everytime I flick on to that program someone is crying. Not the propper crying that people do when something actually bad has happened to them but the "sniffling and wiping little tears away, oh someone doesn't like me" sort of crying. Now I'm all for getting in touch with one's feelings but this has to be the wimpiest, most self-pitying, attention-seeking house in the world!

When will they cancel these steaming turds?

It's better than the UK one anyway. The bits of that I forced myself to watch were dreadfully boring. Everyone was so nicey nicey. It's the kind of boring where you want to poke your eyes out because you just... can't... stand it.
At least in the US one it looks like there might be a bit of action and backstabbing.

They should all be cancelled though.

It's the comlete opposite to the uk house in that they openly talk about nominating someone and I think that ruins the whole show. Basically all it is is the housemates telling each other who to vote off and ruining any sort of shock value when the eviction happens.

    better then the english one:)
Hopefully there might be a bit of riding in this one.
Instead of seeing somebody going into the kazi to pop on off:D :D

Why, oh why, oh why do they have to tell you everything that's coming up, tell you everything again with clips, remind you later and then eventually show you. The repetition drives me nuts. That plus all the music the whole way through the program.

As for the programme format, it is just a boring version of Survivor.. in a house.. with more bitching. Also, as my sis was pointing out, within an hour and a half or so, they were hugging and crying into each others' shoulders like they were best friends since baby infants

    Aarrgh.

i don't like the way this has been put together. it is annoying me already so i don't think i'll be watching a whole lot of it

If they took the US contestants and used the UK setup I think BB over here would have been alot sweeter. We got a pack of duds whereas they got some manipulative, mean shítstirrers combined with the brilliant X-factor idea. Fun from the start.

Unfortunatly thats the de facto standard of reality TV these days :/

Its even worse when you have to MAKE a programme like that. Its so so so boring doing the "What just happened/coming up" style of things.

Blame Sky for propogating it on this side of the pond.

I definately think it's better than the UK one. It's more imaginative and I love the way they're allowed to talk about the scheming and their game plans and not get told off by "Big Brother"! That Scott dude is an a-hole!

The one thing I'm glad of regarding American television here (not that I've watched BB USA since the last post) is that as much as I hate all the ad breaks, we don't seem to have anywhere near as many as the US viewers do. All the same, the Sky channels are almost unforgiveable with them - especially during Buffy / Angel etc where you have to wait during an ad break for the last five minutes that usually turn out to be crap anyway, but that's another story. Sorry, bit off-topic.

It's much more 'entertaining' than the UK one anyhoo. The housemates have stuff to keep them occupied like cards, a basketball, huge chess board and other shtuff aswell. And they're all nymphos too. Man was I pi$$ed off that Michelle was evicted. She was well fit. Is it just me or is that asian host chick like a bloody robot ?! I did hear that they'd all be invited for a reunion when it's over, but Scott isn't :p Cuckoo

amazing how they managed to find the only 13 Americans who arent fat or ugly ............

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,072 ✭✭✭Sandi

Did you see the comparison photos they showed of Jun?! They showed side photos of her in a bikini on Day 5 and Day 25 and she's put on loads of weight! She's constantly stuffing her face and she can't fit into her jeans anymore. Thought that was funny.
Dana's not exactly a beauty. Nice figure, weird face...and she's evil!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,164 ✭✭✭Space Coyote

I think I heard Jee saying near the start that yer one Jun used to be around 200 pounds when they were going out. apparently she's got that ricky lake yo-yo syndrome thing going on.

All of the posters posts are a little odd :D

anyone know who won the power of veto this week and wheter whoever won it used it?

is it still jun and the man troll up for eviction?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,072 ✭✭✭Sandi

Robert won the power of veto and he decided not to use it. Good decision too. So Jun and Dana are still up for eviction (I assume the man troll you refer to is Dana - and I whole-heartedly agree). She's just an evil bitch and a really really bad loser. I hope she goes.

God, I hate TV and these shows in particular, but this thing is strangely compelling...sorta like a train wreck.....

Im going for Erika. Shes as mad as a box of frogs.
Also - Jack. How did he ever manage to do 30 years in the FBI?!?!
Hes as thick as a bowl of cement flavoured custard.

The blondey bird - Alison - her voice......... its likea drill on my mind.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,072 ✭✭✭Sandi

No offense to any Americans here but I think most American accents are a "drill" on the mind. Some are nice and soft but some are really strong and piercing and just plain annoying!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,164 ✭✭✭Space Coyote

Just like the Kerry accent then :D

no offense people of the kingdom

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,890 ✭✭✭embee

    Mad Erika won HOH.
    Excellent.
Look at the two birds (Jun and Alison) fawning over the same person they called a "psychopath" in the early days.
    Classic.

To be honest I was never even a famn of the UK onbe, though my girlfriend was so was my flat mate.

Both of them took one look at the US eps and that was the end of that.
Not watched it since :D (thankfully)

Leave it to Americans to try and improve on something.

Whats next a remake of Fr Ted, oh wait there trying that to....

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,072 ✭✭✭Sandi

That HoH game (or whatever it was) in the cages was horrible! I'm glad that Erika won it though. I'd like her to win the whole thing in the end too.
Did anyone see the gross seafood they had to eat to get proper food for the week and not peanut butter and jelly? Bleuch! Made me feel pukey watching them!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,872 ✭✭✭segadreamcast

Alison's gonna win it I think - and that just tears me to shreds.

I'd like to see Jee or Jack win it, though Jee stepping out of the cage was a bit disillusioning.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,177 ✭✭✭oneweb

I have to say, I'm quite enjoying BBUSA! I loved the Gnome challenge and the Mime day that they had. The whole program is just so different to BBUK. Let's hope the UK bosses take on board some of BBUSA's ideas!

    It is what it's.

    Seems like they did :p

OK, I hope BBUK takes up at least some of their format! The tasks were good, the bitchin was better and the nomination-talk was great!

    It is what it's.

who actually won it. i was following it along and all and saw it till the last week but then i missed the fina episode to see who won? Did alison win? And did it show who voted for her? or vice versa?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 274 ✭✭dsab

Jun won with 6 to 1 votes against Alison. But it was not easy for the others. As one said... I admire the two of you, how you could choose money over dignity...

They got a very frosty reception from the housemates when they came out...
