iolbb in cork problems?

    anyone having problems with slow downloads on IOLBB in the Cork area over Saturday night Sunday morning?

    If you check out the thread "IOL BB slower than GBush at a mensa meeting" you'll see that some people are having severe speed problems with IOL BB. Not sure of all their locations so some could be in Cork.

    Two reasons have been put forward for the sh*te speeds:

    1. The exchanges only have 1MBit lines so if a large number of people connect there'll be a big jam at the exchange.

    2. Some people including myself find that pings are rock solid and as low as can be expected (45-50 to UK servers). I can play online games for hours with no lag spikes or dropped connections. Muck and Mr.Pink suggested that a dodgy proxy or transparent cache somewhere could be the problem.

    The only way to stop this happening is to get on the phone/email and complain to Esat.
