    Just wanted to say "Hello!"

I took on an allotment in May, and am just reaping the first rewards (Yay!)

I share it with 2 other nutters - my other half, and my best friend in the whole-widey-world. W've got 4 plots between us, but so far have only worked a plot and-a-halfs worth (It was a bramble 'n couch grass jungle B4 we took it on!)

Would love to chat to other newbie gardeners and old green-fingered peeps alike!

    Take care for now,
    Kitten

What's the story with allotments anyway? How do you get one and all that?
They really are a feature of England, but less so in Ireland. I know of only a couple around Dublin. They look great. Growing your own veg and all that.
Would like to hear more about them.

    :D Hi Freak!

Sorry for not getting back sooner, I've been a busy girl lately.

'Til May this year I was the last person on Earth to be into gardening! I thought, like most people, it was for retired old men and spinsters in sunhats and shorts...But then I discovered -
Gardening is the new rock & roll!!!

I live in a small, 3rd-floor flat without a garden, so I really missed having a nice place outdoors to sit...and somewhere fairly private to sunbathe!

I'm a bit of an art & crafts nut, and always liked the idea of growing flowers and decorative fruit & veg. My best mate and I were chatting about allotments one day last autumn - next thing I know I'm renting half a four-plot jungle, full of weeds and brambles! We weren't even in the pub, so I can't even say I'd agreed to it whilst drunk!

Anyway - I'm absolutely addicted to it all now! My mental and physical health has improved dramatically, I'm suddenly an interesting person to talk to at dinner parties, and I have a tan for the first time in my life!

If anyone has any tips - please share. I want to know everything! (About gardening, that is...) ;)

    I'll shut up now!

Your first move.... first move... is to nuke the peskys!
Anything with no legs or more that two legs.....out out out

After that you should have no problems:D
