I stayed in Torviscas, Playa de Las Americas last year and I thought the place was fantatstic! Bring lots of money because everything's duty free. I bought an mp3 player for €60, top quality. There's a market twice a week with loads of bargains. Lots of watersports jetski's banana boats, parascending the work's. Go on the tropical delfin cruise. For 5 hours you cruise around the coast checking out dolphins and whales, you get a nice lunch and all the beer/sangria you can drink. The boat pulls up in the middle of nowhere and you can dive off and go swimming. Then on the way home they start up with loads of music and crack open about 15 bottles of champagne, great stuff! Also check out Parc de Las Aguilas and the aquapark (great slides + great dolphin show).
You can get a three course meal for between €5-10, and be sure to check out the chinese all you can eat buffets for a mere €6!
Stay away from the veronica strip and watch your wallet at the markets.

Just back from there a while ago(1mnt)

I got a great offer of 300euro for two weeks
    and the apartment was lovely(carribe)

Tenerife has pretty much everything, you have loads of bars/restaraunts and a good few niteclubs

loads of shows (some really funny)

Veronicas strip was very bad for drugs/fighting/scum .. but a load of places were closed down because of this

they were finishing off a load of new clubs when I was there.
and was told that it has got alot better .. but do watch out ..

    Food was great ..
you can get set menus for 5/6euro (garlic bread/main/ice cream)
we had this twice .. both were nice .. but not great .. but great value

there is a place called Aberdeen stake house .. and they had a fantastic offer on .. you could get fillet steak for 5.50euro with a plate load of veg ... and 4.4 for mixed grill and 4.40 for sirloin steak .. and these were genourous portions
