Anyone here know how to force the loading of a video driver apart from doing an insmod -f driver from a terminal?

Why are you trying to force a kernel module?

Cos I love to impose my will and power on my kernel - the beauty of linux! :p
Nah, seriously tho, on running xdm->kdm I'm getting:

(EE) NVIDIA(0): Failed to initialize the NVIDIA kernel module!

This is due to the fact the nvidia module is loading due to a mismatch in kernel

    My kernel: Linux dizz 2.4.20-4GB-athlon
    Req Kernel: Linux dizz 2.4.20-4GB

The kernels are the same, trust me, but insmod kicks up a whole lotta b*tchin when loading to runlevel 5. Now I don't really have time for a kernel recompilation and/or modifiying nvidia's Makefiles (I've my own to be looking after! ;) ) so is there a flag/switch/command line param that'll tell X to force the loading of my module?
