Wow, is that three strings per main string? Cool, never played a triple stringed guitar - must be difficult.

Out of curiosity how do you tune the other two strings? Are they both one octave above the tonic string? If so - can you actually hear the difference in the other two strings?

Must be a bitch to tune up with a new set of strings on! My 12 string guitar certainly is.

Jeff Ament uses one, crazy ass harmonics and stuff.
You caan tune them to "chords" so you press down three at a time to make a 5th chord on the bass.

    In answer to your questions:

A: I plan to induce bowel movements

B: each fundamental string is tuned as normal, with the other two strings tuned up an octave in unison, but i plan to tune it (low to high) C# G# C# F#

C: you can tune it to chords but i wont be doing that.

D: i paid 570 yo yos for it on ebay.

I've wanted one of these since i heard "jeremy" in 1991, and now i have one!!!!

Ah so the other two strings are the same? If I can make a small suggestion - when tuning two similar strings: Tune them slightly off-perfect and you can create a slight phasing effect . It can be quite nice on a 12 string guitar but I'd say that would be pretty funky on your bass.

thats exactly what i plan to do gordon...cos if you tune them the same they'll practically cancel each other out....
