It isn't Mullaganish (VHF + UHF) as this is poor in Kilarney.

    ring 1850 584 585

There are dozzens of UHF relays in Kerry. I have the RTE list but it doesn't show where they are.

Wouldn't it be nice if RTE published a coverage map on their site...

The majority of viewers in Killarney town itself receive Mullaghanish

RTE1, Net2 are on VHF D and G (vertical VHF)
TV3 and TG4 are on UHF 27 and 31 (horizontal UHF- red colour code for non-wideband UHF aerials)

some viewers there receive Knockmoyle (SlieveMish) relay near Tralee which is
RTE1: 53, Net2: 57, TG4: 63 (vertical UHF- green colour code), NO TV3 though, your only source for TV3 is Mullaghanish (bar MMDS,Sky)

I wish RTE would put technical info (including coverage maps) n their website.

The information does exist but apparently is only available to the aincent masonic order of TV dealers

I simply emailed and asked. They posted out pages of the stuff. But no maps :o(
Phone is good too unless you are silly enough to complain about reception quality!

I think RTÉ keep their service area maps under wraps these days. But I do have a transmitter service area map printed by RTÉ in 1981 which shows the service area for the main transmitters along with the few relays dotted around at the time. This really is a flashback - on the map Letterkenny and Moville were still served by 405 line relays, some relays didn't carry RTÉ 2 three years after launch and even Kippure didn't carry it - although there were plans to have a "low power transposer" there to serve parts of Wicklow!

The map is about A3 size, although it also has a bit of pencil writing and puncholes as well, but I could put it up if anyone is interested?

Because of size restrictions, I've had to seriously compress the file size of this map in jpg format, so I'll make another post for the picture showing the transmitter details for 1981 as well. It's made up of four seperate scans joined together.
