Simple Solaris 2.7 Question

    Greetings

Simple question that I can't seem to find the answer for.

How do you open another terminal window on the main console? The screen we were using locked up and we wanted to open another terminal window so that we could kill the other process. In *nix it's usual shift or control plus one of the function keys.

    Any ideas?

Ok first thing, are you sure you didn't hit ctrl-s by accident? This suspends input. Press ctrl-q to undo this.

Right assuming this isn't what happened you can't do terminal switching on solaris 7 unless it has previously been set up.
Solaris 8 onwards doesn't support terminal switching at all.
If by some chance it was configured you could try ctrl-prtsceen Fx.

Your other option is to use hyperterminal (or whatever) and plug a serial connection into the back of the box. This should give you a prompt.

<edit> just realised you said 2.7 not 5.7, also terminal switching is only available on x86 afaik, not sparc</edit>
