I was just wondering if anybody had ever heard of www.faet.de.
I'm on the lookout for a laptop and faet seem to be amazingly good value, almost too good to be true.
They have a laptop called the V7 which can be customised,

Here is an example of spec and price:
Intel Pentium 4 mobile - 2,4 Ghz ,
512 MB DDR RAM (1x512 MB) - 333mhz ,
60 GB - 5.400u - 2,5 Zoll - 9.5mm Festplatte ,
2x DVD-R / 1x DVD-RW /16x CD-R / 10x CD-RW / 8x DVD / 24x CD ,
15'' SXGA+ (1400x1050)
NVIDIA GeForce 4 Go - 64 MB
4x USB 2.0
1x PS/2
1x VGA port, 15 pins
1x Microphone-in
1x Headphone-out
1x DC-in
1x RJ-11 (modem)
1x RJ-45 (LAN)
1x IEEE 1394 X 1, 4pins
1x TV Out (S-Video connector)
1x FIR
1x LPT
1x PCMCIA Type II
(No operating system)

All for €1702,18 including VAT.

They dont have an Irish website yet but apparantly theres one coming soon.

So whats the verdict, anybody heard of them, is it a bit dodgy or not?

Looks ok but you could get a 3.6ghz advent of similar spec here for under 2k and for the same price as these in NI if you take a trip to PC world there. Ask Jesus_Thats_Grea he did that and loves it.

You should take a look at http://www.gericom.com too, Austrian manufacturer that has some pretty good specs... planning on getting an overdose radeon 9600 off them in a few weeks.http://www.gericom.com/gericom2001/page.cfm?page=notebooks_productserie&serie=67
