Are there any other towns in Ireland which have the same laid-back hippy vibe of Galway?

Does either Killarney or Cork have a similar atmosphere?

I found Kilkenny to be somewhat similar, but to be honest you can't beat Galway.

    Westport ain't bad.

Gweedore in Donegal has to be the most laid back place on earth.

Just remembered, Dingle has it's fair share of hippy-types too. It's fairly laid back and good fun to go for a few jars in.

My sitting room is quite laid back and thats in Dublin, its population rarely swells to town like proportions tho'

Galway is prolly the best in terms of towns/cities, additionally I like Aranmore off Donegal tho' so laid back ... you'd nearly fall over.

Yeah I'd say Galway. Cork City's good for a weekend on the rip though, or Letterkenny or Westport. But isn't it always raining in the west of ireland ? And it's too windy. Ye can't beat the east :D

I like Galway, but it's just turing into a small Dublin.

By any chance is the repeat rate for students in Galway higher then the rest of Ireland?

westport!!! if it was any more laid back youd fall and split your head. i stayed in the westprot woods hotel and what a boring town, no wonder, they've nothing to be excited about. the best part about the holiday was seeing this girls car from home i like, and i didnt even talk to her, its just nice to know she was close aahhh.:)

most laid back place in ireland - unionhall co. cork

nice scenery just gets boring after bout 3 days. nice place to relax though.

i must be the only person in ireland whos never been to galway! have to admit though waterfords not a bad place for pubs and clubs at th moment theres a good few decent places around and the city is actually staring to look nice. disturbingly increasing amounts of hippies appearing around the place though. they all hang around john robt. square and eleven eleven lookin stoned suckin hemp lollies.

besides, we're going to need a safe house outside of japan in case things get too hectic.

Spent most of my life in galway. Never got hassle off the cops and rarely got into any bother with scobes, which is pretty cool. Most of my mates who come from other cities say theyd get stopped quite regularly by police for no reason and constantly having trouble with scobes. Pretty cool city like that, just hope it stays that way. For anyone thinkin of going to college in Galway, -> got ta seriously reccomond it.
