I'm well excited waiting for my black Ibanez baby! I've been surfin for a guitar like this for ages and i picked it up on thomann for €285.
Anyone used this guitar before? I'd luv to know how it handles heavy stuff like sepultura and system of a down.
    This is the one anyway!

Nice guitar. I reckon if you get a Dimarzio Air Norton for the bridge and Tone Zone-S for the middle and neck positions. Then you'll have a very nice sounding guitar. Not a huge fan of the archtop but anyways, enjoy your guitar!

Thanx man, not too sure about the pick up suggestions as this is my first electric and i couldnt tell the difference between a good pick up and a bad one. You said that the bridge pickup should be that Air norton, would i need to by two seperate pickups for the bridge, one for the mid and one for the neck?

    OK, pickup definition time:-)

A humbucker, like the one you have in the bridge, is basically two single coils placed side by side with reversed polarity so that it cancels the hum, hence the name. These pickups are not quite as clear as single coils and are better suited to your heavy style music.

Single coils, like the middle and neck postitions, are very clear sounding pickups, used a lot for bluesy type music. These pickups can be more suseptible to noise.

Those pickup suggestions are just what I've read from guitar.com that are best suited to Ibanez. Personally, I swear by EMG's. Have two in my ESP. Anyway, for your guitar, you would need to buy 3 seperate pickups, one for bridge, one for middle and one for neck. Seeing as it's your first electric however, wait a while before doing any upgrading. I upgraded my second guitar after about two and a half years of playing so my ear was slightly more developed.

Great stuff, just got back from witness a while ago after a savage weekend so my head is in bits but still i've learned stuff! I think i've always wanted to be an experimental guitarist as effects go so i'll stick to the pedals to define a sound and in time i can try different pickups then. Cheers.

Just one word of advice - no amount of effects can make a bad sounding guitar sound good but too many effects can make a good sounding guitar sound bad. Remember that always!
