Question about tongue

I've been told that dentists get offended if you arrive for a check-up with any sort of oral piercing. Could someone tell me if this is the case or not cos I have an appointment coming up soon and I don't want my dentist bitching at me about it.

    Thanks.

    Rory

I cant speak for your dentist, but my dentist wasnt bothered by mine, , so it just depends on what your dentist is like.

I have my lip done. My dentist wasn't bothered about mine either. In fact I'm not sure he noticed it coz he didn't say anything about it!
Like Dudley says, it depends on the dentist. Not all are gonna be "offended" by piercings, just like not all of them eat mushrooms... (I dunno!)

my bottom center gum is like half worn away from my labret piercing!! don't think my dentist would be too pleased...and im almost sure my enamel is chipped from me tongue bar, and i've chipped me tooth more then once...

also i dont see why they should be annoyed, as it will be more money for them to repair any damage

I have a lip and tongue piercing and my dentists are always bitching about them so I always take them out before I go there. I think its better anyway as it makes some space for the dentist :)
But I just wanted to mention that one of my front teeth broke, probably because of the piercings that weakened the tooth. And believe me, its not a very nice sight and it costs a fortune to repair.
