Right now that we've got games2 back in working order who would be interested in playing through the campaign online.

I think we'll be looking for ppl who can make it the majority of the time, so we'll need to agree on a day (or days) and a time.

So stick your name down and days and times that would suit you best. We'll try and come to a happy medium for them and look to start the next week or if required the week after.

If we could do it at the weekend it would be better. My weekdays can be pretty full sometimes. Course i need to get the exp first.. maybe on Saturday.

I bought it yesterday in Smyths. Made a new Character.... i went with Cleric... i was good as Cerano so tried the same. Anyway im not sure how it will play online!!! The beginning is very easy!!! It has got to a stage now though, im in the old forest or something and its full of caves of Bugbears and badits and me and my companion (the dwarf rogue) are getting our asses kicked right now.
Anyway according to the readme its not designed for online play. Some things might not work right.. There is not too much loot so having to share that will keep us poor.. though i assume it gets better as game goes on. Anyway The readme says at most... 4 players should play this in a single party. So i dont know how well it will work online. Maybe we should all play the first chapter solo and maybe then load up the other chapters and play online importing our characters?

By the way... a tip from manual... in drogans place there is a divining pool where any items dropped, or quest items sold/lost/stolen etc can be bought back for a small price so no fubar quests because of lost items

Also some of the stuff added is great.. you can do more with your henchman like alter their inventory, get them to carry stuff.. also by using their inventory you can

take off their weapon so when you need to go weaponless into an area, you can take the henchamn with you if things turn nasty!

Yea that might be an idea. On a side note the servers ready to go we just need to pick a day and time. We'll also have a wee chaneg from the usual in that I'm going to leave the passwords in a slightly more public spot which only we'll have.
I'll be away next week so it would be best of we can make a start of this soon, I'll leave the server running the week I'm a away and teh DM's can pause and unpause the server.

great game, I'm also not sure about online play. It does seem *very* focussed on single player - single henchman...

Anyway, finished the first chapter on Sunday (about 9 - 10 hours non-stop ("My eyes... they burn!!!") ).... great so far! Actually I was originally dissappointed with the original campaign, I got to about chapter 2... is SoU significantly better than the rest of the original campaign? I'm wondering if I missed out now....

More than one Smyths glimmerman I got mine on yesterday in Smyths in Liffey Valley (near PowerCity if you did not know)

I played it for a few hours last night.. im not sure how far i have gone through it but i did all the quests in the villiage etc... I got the mummy hand so i need to go face the dragon for the little Kobold now and i will get the tower thingy.

I stopped at the end of chapter one. If we are playing online, we might have aproblem if we are uploading characters from the end of ch1. I cant see mages etc. doing as well as fighting characters. Like the original NWN, this seems *very* fighter oriented.

ps. save the game before you meet the jumpers. That is one thing you'll want to see again

So do ppl want a server tonight ? Or are you going to go with the standard portal for now ?

On a side note I've created a private forum from which I'll be able to upload any toons you have to the server. Lolths got access and can provide it to anyone who want s it. But more on that once we actually start the campaign. I'm thinking wednesdays at 8:00pm or would later suit better.

Hmmmm, unfortunately i got hooked and finished it before i knew what was happening, 2 days of solid play later i have a lvl 14 (6 Ranger, 1 Wizard, 7 Arcane Archer) character, guess ill need to run through chapter 1 again.

Im level 4 Cleric.. was thinking about taking arcane archer when i get the requirements met. Is it good? looks interesting.

to take arcane archer you have to

1. be an elf
2. be able to cast ARCANE spells. clerics and druids (and rangers funnily) enough only cast devine spells. you'll need a level of mage/sorceror/bard to be eligible.

Something else lolth.. You need to have Longbow as a weapon focus... and there might be something else missing too.. not sure.

I've cleared down the campaign server and have moved the both archives of the Dreamcatcher and HCR servervault onto the forums.

So we should be good to go tomorrow. Anyone who wants to upload a character to the server can do so, talk to lolth or myself for permissons to the relevent area, I'll take what ever files are there and put them up at 17:00 tomorrow.

Lolth or myself will also put the password for the server here, there mostly will not be a server portal unless lolth makes one.

I actually completed it in Singe Player yesterday evening.. great exp pack and better than the story in NWN was. I did not pick one of the new classes in the end.. stayed Cleric. Im not as advanced as Cerano (online) was but fun all the same. I love the new commands you can do with henchmen. Still i would like to be able to tell them to stop without removing them from the party. Ah well. It took me a while to finish it because i did absolutly everything i could possibly find to do in the game And even then i would have missed stuff because it was not part of my race/class/alignment. I played the noble Cleric. I got XP from whatever i could.. i even found a near death bear, healed it and got XP and 2pts good alignment:D

Well worth the money i think.
