GCC / C rpm installation.. Where can i get RH8

hi i am looking to install gcc or any of the usual c compilers for red hat but i cannot locate the RPM. any ideas anyone.? i did not install the c compiler when installing red hat 8 and need a c compiler to configure apache any help very much appreciated.

hi typedef not as yet i havent looked however i shall on the offchance do you know the name of the rpm for it? i have a 1mb line to the net so i can alternatively download..

download and install apt for redhat - apt.freshrpms.com

do the following:

apt-get update
apt-cache search gcc

apt-get install %rpm name gotten from apt-cache%

done and done.

On the Redhat disks or from ftp.esat.net, install the following files (there may be others, but the rpm will display the dependencies needed)

You probably will only want to install the first two. If there is no development tools installed on the machine at the moment, you may want to install make, bison, byacc etc..
