Thay have GLquake2 but are having problems with getting GL to work for q1 (they said they didnt try very hard)

I also intend to introduce them to the delights of Starcraft.

They are willing to give the team time to praccy on their own too.

Later.
DeV.
ps: please reply to this if you think you might go.

If some 4 guys wander off the street and beat the sh*t out of team.ie I will eat not only my hat but all my clothes. And yes, they would be considered to go to France instead.

The IT team is Q2 only. Theres an opportunity going a begging for TGB.

About that Quake 1 stuff in Nethouse.
I actually tried to Setup GLquake World
for them but eventually I've find out that graphic cards they have don't
support OpenGL format for Quake1. In other words manufacture of
those graphic cards doesn't have the OpenGL.dll driver for Quake1 for Windows95/98.
Guys who own this place are really great and they told me if Quake LAN-Parties
will be on regular basis they will buy 3DFx Voodoo cards.
I know they are looking forward to have Quake LANs and they actually did it
once but then, on second time, there were only 3 people...
So, I hope it will work out OK.

lucky for you im in work for a weekend of nights <IMG SRC="http://lacerta.ucg.ie/boards/frown.gif" WIDTH=15 HEIGHT=15 BORDER=0 ALT=":("> and i believe next friday im going to get really drunk in the portabello <IMG SRC="http://lacerta.ucg.ie/boards/smile.gif" WIDTH=15 HEIGHT=15 BORDER=0 ALT=":)">

however, if yis can organise a fortnightly bash there for the weekends im not in work, i reckon id make it most of the time. as long as i get the puter with the ninja chip and get to use an aimbot and we add 500 to your pinmg times and theres definately no quake1 played as all.......... ohhhhh its an offence to the senses. unless im playing with rogue of course! cant wait to whip inc on sunday night

Ok, this mostly applies to Dublin quakers, but I'm sure the country lads will want to know too!

We have a sponsor for the national teams(both q1 and q2) in terms of a cybercafe!

Nethouse Cybercafe runs a quake night every friday for 3 hours for a tenner (cant say fairer then that) on PII 333's. They are willing to let us traing for an hour there at our convenience and also there is the possibility of a lockin from time to time, (the owners are quakers too!)

This is GOOD NEWS and it would be nice to show our support for them in return. Possibly the ****ups mentioned in other threads and general good will towards them.

I'm going along tonight for a game and anyone who wants to join me there is more then welcome. If any of team.ie read this, it would be nice to show our faces there and get a little lan praccy to. There are five-six machines available still for tonight.
Q2 is played there too.

Spin Solutions will soon be puting up a cash prize for any public team who can beat team.ie (I DONT want to see faces I recognise lining up for it, its a publicity stunt <IMG SRC="http://lacerta.ucg.ie/boards/smile.gif" WIDTH=15 HEIGHT=15 BORDER=0 ALT=":)">

More about this later.
So, any team.ie players and anyone else who wants to go tonight please reply here and let me know!

DeV.

Yah I played there last nite with Dev, Gandalf and Bunnors. It gets the thumbs up from me. The Place roxk, excellent PC's and the guys who hang there appear to be all dead on (even though they play quake II).

Get Some!

• Business & Finance Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 32,387 Mod ✭✭✭✭DeVore

Yah, last night was strong and we had a great laff.
The lads who run it are dead sound and they would have played all night if we hadnt left to get up this morning.

Its So strong and the best coffee I've had in ages.(apart from Blasters ninjas coffe at QP)

That quake session happens ever friday night as a lockin (no MSOffice muppets)
You should book to be sure and its a tenner for the night. They've told us team.ie can practise there free too and they will host our home games so thats too kewl.

Cheers lads, see yah all next weekend <IMG SRC="http://lacerta.ucg.ie/boards/smile.gif" WIDTH=15 HEIGHT=15 BORDER=0 ALT=":)">
