If you're calling Eircom support

    If you're calling eircom istream support ask for Eamon Rohan or Adam Walsh. I know the first guy personally and he's excellent at his job, the second went far out of his way to help us setup dsl with a client who was having driver issues.

    Both of those boys are rare in eircom. They know their jobs and will do their best to help you.

    I've had serious problems getting dsl working for one client of ours and it turned out it was the copper itself had an earth fault which was quickly fixed by eircom. But Eamon and Adam stuck with us the whole way through and got it resolved easy enough.

    Just spoke to another chap on the 1550 ripoff number as I haven't been able to connect since I came home this evening.

    After asking me a few questions, he asked had I had a powercut today. I had. Apparently I was still showing as logged on to the server & so wasn't allowed login a 2nd time (no helpful message to that effect when trying to connect).

    How he worked that out so fast I don't know unless I was just one of many users in Chapelizod to call him today.

    Anyway, I was impressed even if I'm a couple of yoyos lighter after the phonecall.

    Oh, and he was polite enough not to ask if I was using something other than the Eircom issue modem :)

    OK, I forgot to say he killed my server session there and then and I was immediately able to connect again.
