KDE won't load

    on loading KDE I get the error
    "PEXExtentionInit: Couldn't open default PEX font file Roman_M"
    after which KDE crashes out.
    Gnome works fine as do other WMs.
    Whats the deal with this font?
    I assume I don't have it or the path to it is wrong?
    Can anyone throw some light on this error for me?
