Im a student looking for more activities etc...seems like a decent sport to play(not to watch imo anyway) but to play it seems good. Any suggestions/tips?

They have 4 PGA golf professional there on the forums that will answer any question you have on the game. THere are also some simple tutorilas to help you improve you're game.
