Ernie Els has been playing really up in scotland this week.
My moneys on him to win it again this year.

I wonder how Tiger Woods's saturday will go this year ?
Anyone remember that 81 last year ?

I'd be crazy to make a prediction, it is most likely to be Els of that list but you never know with the Open esp if the weather turns.

    Mike.

    How could I possibly 4get ?

As far as I remember he shot a 64 or 65 on the sunday though.

I would have to say Els on current form but Clarke has been there or there abouts for several weeks now he might finally get that good week and win The Open. Bernhard Langer said Sandwich is his favourite course where The Open has played he could be a good each way bet, Harrington will always be there or there abouts aswell, maybe another Paul Lawrie might do it who knows it really is very open.

Ive gone for Mike Weir because I have been really impressed with him this year. He also has the lowest final round average in the US this year so if he is still in contention on Sunday he will be very dangerous.

Apart from him Els, Clark and Harrington would be my other picks. Els and Clarke are playing well just at the right time. Paddy is steady but IMO he is taking too much time off this year. He was brutal last week also.

Yep, he shot a 65 on the final round and ended the tournament on level par.

    Biased but went for Harrington

Kenny Perry is the real form player coming into it , he could be a contender ......

Doesnt look too good for Clarke already. 4 over.

Harrington not looking great either but Garcia and Norman would have been great odds.

The 1st hole has caught Ernie out aswell. he's bogey'd it.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 2,884 Mod ✭✭✭✭celticfc

It wasnt just the 1st hole that caught Ernie out.

    A 78 :

    0 Birdies

    11 Pars

    7 Bogeys

the conditions are extremely difficult and it'll be pot luck as to who can string a decent round together tomorrow IMO.

personally i'd put my money on Sergio Garcia but then...what do i know!! :D

    Tigers just got eagles @ 4 & 7

    and guess who's leading ????

Thomas Bjorn! :D Steady not flash gets you there, maybe.

Speaking of flash what a par by Garcia on the 17th!

Good to see Faldo finding himself only 5 of the pace and with a relativly early tee-off tomorrow could set a handy clubhouse target.

Finally Mark Roe and Jesper Parnevik must be feeling pretty silly
    having forgotten to swap cards....

    Mike.

'Twas very unlucky for Roe and Parnevic, especially Roe who would have been in the 2nd last group with Tiger.

It all makes for a great day tomorrow though :)
