Do a search in this forum for Amiga:) Until then I'l point out a few good games

    Alien Breed
    Assassin
    Arabian nights
    Hired guns
    Supremacy
    Mega Lo Mania
    Turrican 2
    No second prize
Frontier Elite II (Better then PC Version)
    Super Frog

I could go on and on.....Lots of Amiga fans post here:)

I remember K240 very well. It really was class for it's time. They made a sequal for it also which I last saw at the underdogs site.

    And some more...

    Speedball 2
Shadow of the Beast 2 (the whole series perhaps but I've not played it)
    ST Dragon

Which reminds me, I must actually go and get those kickroms...

I was playing K240 just a fortnight ago!

I still have my trusty A1200.

In a tower case. I'm not kidding.

What models does UAE emulate? Can it do the AGA chipset? If it can I could recommend some very cool games...

Treasure Island and Magicland Dizzy are good oldskool fun.

    And Rick Dangerous! It's brilliant!

And Apidya, and Overdrive, and North&South, and and and....

Yep WinUAE supports AGA but still has a problem with Banshee afaik. It pretty much emulates all the Amigas sold for use in the home CD32 included. I love North and South but it's a tad unfair when the computer moves soldiers and cannons at the same time, all while it's cavalry is cutting into your troops;). The game is far better in 2 player.

    Roadkill
    Ruff N' Tumble
    Super Skidmarks
Gravity Force 2 (If ANYONE knows where to find this PLEASE let me know cause I can't find the disk for ye olde A1200 and it makes me so sad)
Trick or Treat (same as above)

The last 2 were PD btw.

Oh and the Amiga version of Cannon Fodder is worth it for the intro song alone. :D

Oh and add Cruise For A Corpse to your list if you like Point n' Click adventures even SLIGHTLY. ^.^ worth it for the music and atmosphere alone.

There's another gem of a game.

If you're looking to get old games again, you might try www.amiga.com

There are links to libraries of games and things, some is PD so they might have what you're looking for...

Does anyone remember a PD amiga game called DRIP? It was like pacman, except you were a drop of water that had to rust up a maze of pipes...

    No...

But I just remembered Base Jumpers. And <runs off to find old copy of AP>... ZEEWOLF! Hell now I'm looking there're a few hundred classics I remember now!

F1 (the single fastest racing game ever)
    Guardian Cd32
    Heimdall 2
    Super Stardust
    Exile
    Goblins

Oh and I found something wonderful for all who love GF2!

I remember F1. It was on the MD as well but was far better on the amiga. It looked absolutely terrible but the speed was unbelievable. Even the new F-zero game doesn't come close to the speed of that game. It was great to play as well.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,590 ✭✭✭lordsippa

James Pond and James Pond 2. Sure they were on the MD but the amiga was their home. and I'm not sure the first was ported. Not the best games but fun all the same.

And for footy management sims I remember loving Premiership Manager 3 despite not really liking football. :p And it has an editor so you can bring it up to speed. :D

    Oh god there're so many.

Lionheart and Odyssey if I remember their names correctly were fun platformers... And Harlequin.

... I'm going to stop before I list every amiga game I played (with some exceptions)

    I can't believe I forgot this but

    GLOOM!

YOU MUST ALL DL GLOOM! My disk got corrupted! :( Oh how I cried.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,716 ✭✭✭✭Earthhorse

You know I just had a quick re read of this thread and I don't think anyone mentioned Monkey Island!

But you knew that already! And I actually came here to say, though you mightn't get actual manuals, you will most likely get some instructions on how to play a game from www.gamefaqs.com If not just do a google and someone's bound to have put up info somewhere.

A similar thing happened when my Frontier Elite II disk went nuts....i was forced to get a copy (Although it did get rid of the annoying copy protection) but i did still have the map, story book and manual:)

Having an amiga emulator without IK+ would just be tragic. Street Fighter, Virtua Fighter, Tekken....none of them even came close

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,756 ✭✭✭demanufactured

    golden axe
    days of thunder
    shadow of the beast 2
    lemmings
    stunt car racer
MORTAL KOMBAT(fun to play with one fire button)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,225 ✭✭✭Scruff

Syndicate on the Amiga was waaay better looking than the pc version.
Also liked the Battle Isle series.

I haven't tried Amiga emulation for a while.... is it anywhere near perfect yet?

I'd love to play Menace and Blood Money again......

Yup! I remember it! You probably came across it as part of a CU Amiga coverdisk. I came across a website with those cover-disks in .adf format awhile back and am fairly sure I got the one with Drip on it. And since I had the original coverdisk, it's legal too ;)

I remember the amiga version of worms. That was by far the best version since you could make your own levels using a painting program. I remember designing loads of levels for it.

It was a long time ago, but captain planet was cool. As far as I can remember.
    Spy vs Spy.
    Monkey Island.
    Nick Faldos Golf.
    Batman.
    Snare.
    Pushover.

    Also great games.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,590 ✭✭✭lordsippa

Oh no... oh no no NO! Captain Planet wasn't fun. Trust me on this, I played it enough. It was funish to an 8 year old and even then I got sick of it after a week..

Now Zool... there was a fun game. :D

Nuclear War was a good one, found a lot of good stuff on Classic-trash
I always wanted to play Persian Gulf Inferno again but I could never find a working version of it...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 683 ✭✭✭TenLeftFingers

Actually, does anyone remember carrier command? It was a 3D game where you flew little aircraft and operated hovercrafts from your carrier ship (which you also controlled).

You built factories on islands and could destroy opponents plants by firing from the aircraft. That was my biggest addiction on the Amiga.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,791 ✭✭✭Linoge

    Loved Monkey Island.

I remember IK+. Was that the one where his trousers would fall down??!

Dont forget Mortal Combat. Do people forget that it was out on the Amiga??

My favourite game was It came from the Desert. Had an emulation for the PC but it had no sound. Apart from that, it was utter sh1te. Some games are best left alone to be remembered as classics!!

Used to play that mission impossible type game aswell. I forget the name. It was good though.

Does anyone remembera game called "Dragon <something> "

You basically had control of a couple of dragons and you'd mix potions to make them stronger/faster/better flame.
Once you had improved your dragon you went to a 2-D scrolling shoot-em-up (like project X but flying up the screen).

You had to flame the villagers huts then with your dragon, to control villages and get more power to get better dragons.

The aim of the game was to conquer all villages and find some Gem or other.

Anyone remember the name of it?

I loved Supercars 1 + 2, and pretty much anything the Bitmap brothers did. Except Magic Pockets. Which was pants. I got extremely addictited to Sim City (the first one) on my old Amiga 500.

    *sigh*

I've got very fond memories of battling with Loom, I also muddled through the German version of King Maker.

Just recently I remembered the 2 greatest moments in coverdisk history <both on the amiga>... "It's a Skull" <song using mixed voice samples from the Valhalla games> and some lawnmower simulation thing...

    Anyone out there remember them?

Oh and back on good games:
    ViroCop
    Super Stardust

... got a few old copies of Amiga Power hanging around. Must look through their games listings and see what I can remember being good.

The PC version of worms supported that too, and probably the Mac version too (there was a Berét-wearing version of this game wasn't there?)

you're a legend, couldn't remember the name or find it anywhere by googling. It was called Dragon Lord as well, so I've found it downloaded it and will be giving it a run at the weekend.

    I loved magic pockets

I had it, but can't find it anywhere.:(

Also I liked silkworm and was freaked out by the intro to shadow of the beast 2 (where this evil scorceror comes along and steals a baby).

Just been playing possibly one of the best games on the Amiga "MOONSTONE: A hard days Knight." From Mindscape. An excellent game when played with a few mates. The sections were you fight your mates cutting of heads etc....class
