Any recommendations about where to buy the latest version of Knoppix?

For some reason the Linux Emporium won’t accept my credit card :( and any other sites I’ve seen either don’t have proper contact details or are selling old builds.

Got my first Knoppix disk with PC Utilities magazine a few months ago.

It was a 'special' version-KDE desktop only and lots of programs missing, most noticeably Open Office and Wine. I got the impression that they didn't want to confuse windows users by giving them too much too soon. :p

The current PC format DVD has it too.

For punters and SMEs OpenOffice is the killer App
    (that and Taipei)

    Boot off CD
Click on US flag - change to UK
Into settings and desktop wizard - choose Ireland and Windows
right click on /mnt/hda1 and change read write

You are now able to work with your Word / Excel and Powerpoint files - though you might want to go into tools options save and change the default file type to microsoft whatever...

    ---

and then there is cluster knoppix / quantian

    :ninja:
    a) into the BIOS -settings - Boot from LAN - and Switch on if there is a power cut.

    b) put the cluster CD into a PC with a UPS

    c) on your way out on Friday - trip the power for a few seconds

    d) you have the whole weekend to play around with some serious computing power...

    e) Monday am - dial in and stop the Mosaic server and send signal for all the PC's to shutdown.
