Well , simply question really :

Do you all think we get value for our money when purchasing a new car in this country ?

I'm certain we don't , look at an example of what you can get in the states :

    Ford ZX2
    130 Hp , 16 V Zetec Engine
    Retail Starting @ $13,750 (€11,910.95)

What would we buy new for that kind of money ??

I'll show you what the same manufacturer has on offer here , a little dearer than the American ZX2 :

    Ford Ka Supermini , 3 door , a "punchy" 1.3 litre engine
    for just €12,214

Theres no debate at all - we get ripped off left right and centre when it comes to cars over here...

When on holidays last year in the Canaries, they were advertising new VW Polos for €4850!! That wouldn't even get you a 95 Polo over here, let alone a new one...

Then if you decide to buy a car in from the UK or Europe you get done over again - for a STG13,000 M3 Evo , the VRT office wanted €14,000 off me to register it!!

And you are also charged VAT on the VRT - i.e. Double taxation , which is illegal in the States !
