    Here,

My modem is v90(pace) and so far Ive tested :
Indigo - v90 ready - All pops up to date

Tinet - v90 but have alot of connection problems, afaik all the country pops are fully v90, but Dublin is not sorted just yet.

    IOL - Forget it!

Clubi - Occasional v90 connect. It appears there is 'A' modem bank that you occasionally get connected to which is v90? 2B Confirmed.

CMI - v90 ready - up to date

Thats all I've tested so far!

    Eric.

now i know v90 is suppose to be the international standard?
    but, and excuse me ignorance,

what exactly will it do for me?
does it make connection faster, more stable or what? coz the only thing i want now is a sub 200 ping to bw an i'll be happy

I upgraded to V.90 the other night and man does it suk! I get 120 pings on Quake.ie War1 and and I'm not takin the p!ss it actually does suk! Its wayyy too unstable, I don't know if its the servers or the actual connection but I had to cap my modem speed to 42000 and after I did that I was pingin at 150 on a very nice stable connection! So yeah upgrade if u have a 56k and see how it goes, if its too unstable just cap the speed and away u go.

I had the same problem as Cave, when I got the v90 upgrade, the ping was lovely but I was getting dissed continually.

Revert to K56flex and voila, ping is about 20 higher but it's a hell of a lot smoother. So do it. And dont bother connecting at higher than about 48000 (absolute max) if you want to play q2, the call to the isp gets terminated after about four minutes.
