I've been to Brussels a few times, nightlife is not bad but nothing special either. Haven't been to Brugge, but it's supposed to be beautiful.
I've heard that Antwerp has the best nightlife in Belgium.

Brugge is touristville, so you'll be hard pressed to find nightlife there. But a great place for a romantic w/end

In Brugge there's good fun to be had at the Bauhaus Hostel, always plenty of people to meet there. They have hotelish rooms as well. Antwerp is probably the best nightlife but you can't beat Brugge for romance, it's a really scenic city. Great for cycling around along the canals and bridges. Oh and the Flanders field tour is a must.

Looks like it's all been said.

Don't go there if you're idea of a hoiday is nightclubs and discos.

do go if you want to take someone on a very romantic weekend (pretty streets, boats on canal...) and there are a few nice hotels and bars where you can drink until the wee hours like Brugs Beertje which has an AMAZING choice of beers.
