    Hi there all you teckies!!
I'm a bit of a novice and need some help to 2 questions:
    1. Is Access Telecom, Communications House, Barrow St., Dublin 4
the same compant as GTS or Ventilo??
(Or did Access Telecom buy Ventilo's Customer base in Ireland?)

    2. My Boss wants me to find out about Broadband for our company. Does Wireless Broadband differ in any way from ADSL being offered by many companies.

Hope some kind , helpful person out there can help a damsel in distress!!!

    Always happy to help.

    There are a few differences.

Typically the equipment and setup fees for wireless are more expensive then ADSL.

You usually need Line Of Sight for wireless, this means you need to be able to see the wireless companies mast from your companies roof. The wireless companies usually carry out a site test before installing the service.

There are some other technical differences, but on the whole wireless performs very similiar to ADSL.

If you are looking at ADSL then remember that the business ADSL services (>EUR100) are better then the cheaper (about EUR50 - EUR66) residential RADSL products for a business.

If it is available in your area, then the Esat Business ADSL products are your best bet, much better then Eircom ADSL.

One piece of advise...make sure you have a good firewall, with any of the services you decide to go for, "always on" also means your network will be "always exposed"

I would reccommend the following ADSL Router and Firewall combo...
