On the 12th day of waiting, IOL gave to me... nothing!

What exactly are these 12 days. I was told by IOL that it will be 12 days from them receiving my application, and now I see in another thread that its 12 days from when IOL receive the username and password from Eircom. So what is the story? Is anyone out there connected to IOL? How long did it take?

to receive your application they have to process it. Processing it involves giving you a user name and password. From that day begin the 12 day count. I am on day 9. Should be on day 10 but they rang when i wasn't there.

Urban Ninja, you are on day 9 of receiving your username and password, but how long did you have to wait before you received your username and password?

I recieved my forms on the monday and posted them back that day. they rang that Friday but i was in work that night. So they gave me the user name and password on following monday. So i waited a week.

I think they were fast with me because i was previously a Netsmart customer and the form was already filled in with my name, address and bank details.

All i had to do was sign and tick the option i wanted.

I find if you email them, you get a better response then their customer care lines. Plus you can include the links to the thread complaining about them.

    Thats what i do!!!

I am getting the 190 Euro installation as I have a new monitored alarm and dont trust myself to be hacking about with it. I am hoping that paying for the full install will motivate them to set me up quickly (I know, denial is not just a river in Egypt). What I do like about that is that when the engineer leaves your house, you are online.

self installing is as hard as........."plug modem into line and usb port follow the manule!"

then again at this point i would just like the esat fella to come around just so i can shout at him

    There's that magic number again . . . 12.
Thats what they told me aswell ! I sent them a stinker of an email last night and then rang them today only to be told that July 4th is the date they have been given by eircom for my connection to be active . . . it will take a further 3 days for my "modem" to be delivered ... wait for it .... by swift post !!!

I believe this is down to Eircom purposely delaying the installs . . . any thoughts considering people around me already have their i-stream setups after a 1 week wait.

    Regards
