    Game News: Battlefield Vietnam revealed
    http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/battlefieldvietnam/news_6030236.html

Electronic Arts has today announced a follow-up to Battlefield 1942, its successful WWII team-based multiplayer action game. Battlefield Vietnam will transplant the franchise's distinct gameplay to a conflict set in tropical locations as dangerous as they are beautiful and give troops even more firepower. As a part of the US or the North Vietnamese forces, players will be able to jump into online battles with up to 64 players or get some practice in the single-player component. The game will drop players into some of the Vietnam War's fiercest battles. The fighting will take place in a variety of theaters, from the jungles along the Ho Chi Minh Trail to the city streets of Hue.

The new game will take steps forward by allowing passengers to fire from moving vehicles and giving helicopters the ability to airlift other vehicles. New graphics and sound engines are being developed to better replicate the atmosphere of the conflict.

Battlefield Vietnam is being developed by Digital Illusions Canada, a new studio set up by Sweden-based Digital Illusions that's also developing the Battlefield 1942: Secret Weapons of WWII expansion pack. The game is scheduled for release in the spring of next year in the US.

    www.eurogamer.net

An Xbox version of Unreal II is definitely underway, and will be released in Europe at the end of November this year (28th November in the UK), an Atari spokesman confirmed this morning.

Overnight several websites picked up on EBGames' and GameStop's respective listings for the title, and these do now appear to be genuine, listing the US release date as September 12th.

Unreal II: The Awakening was released on the PC in February 2003. There's no word on what's changed for the Xbox port, although apparently it "wasn't ready" for a public showing at E3 last month.

Atari will bring Terminator 3: War of the Machines, a single-player and online multiplayer first-person shooter set in the ravaged battlefields of the Tech Com-versus-SkyNet conflict from the Terminator world, to the PC this Fall. Currently in development by Hungary-based Clever’s Games, Terminator 3: War of the Machines will allow up to 32 players to face off online as either technologically-advanced SkyNet Terminators or battle-hardened Tech Com Special Forces in an epic multi-player struggle for supremacy.

Terminator 3: War of the Machines will place players at the very center of the conflict outlined in the Terminator world– the war with the sentient machines. The battle will rage in single- and multi-player modes across a variety of vast landscapes taken straight from the upcoming theatrical release, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, including downtown Los Angeles, a ruined ocean harbor, devastated highways, Tech Com and SkyNet bases, crumbling factories and more.

In the single-player campaign, players will power on as the Terminator himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger, with full likeness and voice acting, to wage war alongside SkyNet's mechanical forces against the human Tech Com revolutionaries. Once captured, however, the player is reprogrammed by Tech Com to fight for the humans and the player battles against his former robotic allies.

Terminator 3: War of the Machines will release for the PC in Fall 2003.
