none of these shows are good that why you may never of heard of them

Except for OZ which we knew was ending anyway. And the same goes for Buffy we new it was going. Both show were finished off rather then axed.

    Thats good logic

Much like here, in the states the most popular TV shows involve a group of people sitting on a log/couch somewhere all day for months on end while millions of people look on :o

Ive seen some of the shows on that list, and some of them are better than anything thats ever come to our screens.

They were cancelled because they didnt take home the ratings, not because they were bad :)

Oz was not cancelled-it was dscontinued by its creator Tom Fontana because he believed that the show had done all he wanted and that to run it further would be harmful wrong.I think the X Files showed that shows should not really be forced to go on due to fan and network pressure because the creator has often run out of ideas by that stage. The X Files was great up until it went off the whole go to town x and investigate something plots, and went onto complicated rubbish by around 1998 or so.Last new episode I saw Mulder was on trial for murder, but TBH I wasnt a bit arsed.Im still watching the decent episodes from the early days on sky mix.

Cancelled generally means that a tv show is taken off the air by thetv executives of a channel, most often because smaller ratings mean smaller advertising revenue.

Surely EVERY show has to be cancelled at some stage or it would run forever!!
So, what's the point of this thread?

It is easier to buy cheap good TV programming from the US rather then buy its BB crap.

    Coronation Street. :(

A lot of this is also costs - you'll see less night scenes and less crowd scenes - and lots more action will be spken about afterward rather then been seen on screen..

futurama (fox) - thought that had gone years ago....
    farscape (sci_fi)
    sabrina, the teenage witch (wb)

Still havent seen the last episodes..
    buffy the vampire slayer (upn)
oz (hbo) - pity it's on so late

    About time ...
    celebrity deathmatch (mtv)
    dinotopia (abc)
i'm a celebrity, get me out of here! (abc)
    jenny jones show, the (syndication)
robot wars: extreme warriors (tnn) -UK version used to be watchable
    touched by an angel (cbs)
twilight zone, the (upn) - if you have ever watched the orignal B&W version nothing comes remotely close
    weakest link, the (syndication)

    Never watched these ..
    dawson's creek (wb)
    just shoot me (nbc)

I'm surprised no-body has mentioned Family Guy.

Family Guy and The Office are the two best programmes EVER made.

What about Geoge Segal or Nena Van Horne. I think this was a very under rated series.

They still have season 7 to show I think. Can't remember if they've finished 6. It's been ages since I've seen it.

Granted the special effects were good, but I have to disagree and say that it was cr*p.

There was a tacky australian air about it, it was too dark, it required too much commitment, learning characters names etc, it is what seven days could have become had it stayed in production...

sorry gotta disagree, you can't just dismiss something because its not disposeable entertainment. This lowest common denominator programming is ruining TV and movies, its the sort of thinking that turns Starbuck into a girl in the remake of Battlestar Galactica, and gets people to produce crap like Vin Diesels XXX. Not everyone has the attention span of a goldfish and needs to have product placement every 10 mins and a nu-metal soundtrack in everything they watch.

Yes it was dark, but wheres the problem, things in life aren't usually shiny and happy. As for having a tacky australian air, i don't see that anymore than I see the matrix as having a tacky australian air. And please don't compare it to seven days, that was quantum leap gone bad, this was pure sci-fi, if you wanna compare it to some bad tv show compare it to buck rodgers,

Also I don't really mind learning characters names , eg: Homer, Moe, Peter, Fry, Bender etc. the list goes on no problems learning these and no regrets either
