Linksys BEFSDR41W Router Firmware Update

    Does anyone have the firmware update for the Linksys router that enables XBOX live on Netsource? Can't get it working so I thought it might be this. Any ideas or links? Cheers.

    i assume your talking about the befdsr41w , if so pm me your email address and i can send it. got it off uzami and he says he can use xbox live with this firmware .

    I flashed it the other night. I thought I had toasted it because all the lights stayed on but they sorted themselves out. The xbox live is really intermittent though. We've managed to connect through a game once. Also the router isn't accepting the login any more. any ideas?

    Reset the box. take something very thin, and press the button on the rear of the unit for 10s, then switch the power off, continue pressing the reset, and switch on, then wait for 10s again, and release.
    You can now log in again with admin/admin.

    Then re-congifure your gateway for the last time.

    Also look in in the advanced set up tab under port forwarding, go down to the upnp port button.

    On that screen note what IP address the xbox has been assigned.

    Go and put the xbox ip address in the DMZ on the router.

    Should be fine, though if you keep rebooting the router the xbox may get reassigned a different IP address, thus you will have to reassign a different ip to the dmz.

    You can assign a static ip to the xbox......but let's get it working first!!!

    what email address did he use to sign up, and likewise what email address did you use?

    It is a long shot, but if I 'recommend' you for the service I may be able to get a free game from MS. Not supposed to be valid in Ireland, but sure aren't we using the service etc etc.

    They are going to be doing a database check in July, so I don't think dates for recommendation / sign up have to be spot on...

    ...as i said, a long shot.

    pm me the email addresses and I will try it out, I'll try for two copies of the same game (Midnight ClubII), i'll forward on othe games to yeez.
