    Got flamed on www.linuxnewbie.org following long and protracted arguing about Bush v Gore, Republicans v Democrats, Bush v Democracy, Bush & his military junta's coup d'etat.

    So having lost my inetweb cherry there I thought a 'mostly' Irish (as opposed to mostly American) community would be more in line with me, so I googled for

    Irish interweb vixens, hot hot, hot!

    And boards was the first hit.

    The rest is history.

    Erm, Cloud invited me... (nice one, havent forgotton!) then I went away on hols, forgot about here for 2 years and only came when ICDG moved here. My post count could be close to WWMan's if it wasn't for those pesky kids. :(

    Got on the internet ~late august 2000 (new PC + modem = joy), faffed about playing CS here and there on english servers, got pissed off at the ping (was and still am on a DACS box at home), went in search of Irish TFC/CS/Quake servers by about Novemeber.
    Came across www.fortress.ie and www.quake.ie
    Within 3 minutes* of browsing had spotted the link to www.boards.ie
    Lurked for a while, reg'd around January. The rest is a blur.



    * I now count those 3 minutes as among my life's lowest and most foreboding moments
