Burned on a burned DVD

I just had a number of video tapes sent out to be burned to DVD. I asked for two copies. One copy works fine on my DVD player (less than one year old and says it plays DVD-R), but with the other, it said 'cannot play disc'. Both played in my computer's DVD player.

The business burned me a new second copy, and I'm getting the same message (cannot play disc).

Does anyone have any ideas why one would play and not the other, or what I (or the business) can do to help? Thanks!!!!

Sorry, can't help you, but am interested to know how much they charge.
You could perhaps ask the company to burn it to a different (more expensive) DVD.

The charge for putting it together, and then two copies was $80+. What type of DVD is more expensive (so I can make a suggestion)????

    Thanks again!

Perhaps a Verbatim of TDK disc. I dont know it itll make a difference now.
Let me know if it does tho - I made a DVD of a holiday for a few mates using the cheapest DVD-Rs i could find and they only work in some of my friends DVD players. Havent got around to trying more expensive discs yet.

Thanks! I'll ask if he'll give it a shot and let you know how it goes. Thanks again!

Well, he burned another from a different batch of the same type of DVD and also used a 'downtown' DVD disk. (The first batch had printable DVD's). BOTH worked this time!

Thanks for the advice! Now I have an extra!!!!
