    Hello Girls

I was wondering about the best method to shave a place I will not describe, without getting these ugly spots?
    Thanks!!

Those "ugly spots" that you refer to are caused by ingrown hairs. Tea-tree oil is meant to help and so is gently exfoliating said area. Try to remove the ingrown hair with a tweesers (lovely aint it) that will reduce their redness.

Ask a beautician they would be able to advise you on a product you could use.

    True.

A 'much' simpler solution is to quitely cast aside those who don't do it, organically.

i think when shaving sensitive areas its better to shave with the hair, as opposed to against it, i reduces those ingrown hairs, altho nothing can really prevent them.
    tried waxing?

Waxing will lessen the ingrown hairs but wont stop them altogeter.

Just a question for typedef and mercury_tilt, how often do ye wax/shave your pubic(??no??) hair??

If ye have did you like doing it or find it a hassle??

Ever had ingrown hairs that look very unsightly and could lead to infections if not dealt with??

no form of hair removal or no method of doing it will completely stop ingrown hairs, just something you've gotta deal with
    /me shrugs

    good grooming practise will.

always use a good shampoo, like head and shoulders, or pantene.
also brushing your hair will help reduce knots and the such from occuring, causing pain if your man should wan tot run his hand through your hair.

i somehow get the impression that tweaering (is that a word?) out an ingrown hair is not exactly a great idea. maybe you should seek medical advice first, i know that on your back they can cause complications.

I used to get it all the time on my kneck after shaving. Tea tree oil definetly helps as does pulling the ingrowing hairs out and shaving with the grain.
Unfortunately tho it doesn't stop it happening. I've always had it happen when i shave and lately (cuz i shave more nowadays) i was getting pissed off with it and used an electric shaver. It sorted it out as electric shavers just dont shave as close as normal shavers. But i guess you dont want to have that area dark and stubly all the time. Waxing id say is your only option.

yes but like waxing any area to remove hair you have to let it grow back for over 6 weeks before it can be waxed again.

Okay, the next man to suggest waxing needs to go and get his ball sack waxed, then come and give an informed opinion.

If you insist on waxing, DO NOT DO IT YOURSELF WITH A HOME KIT. For first time waxers, visit a beautician. Only the truly masochistic would do this at home. The other thing with waxing is that you have to let hair grow to a certain length so it's not the be-all and end-all for perpetual baldness.

If you shave, always use a sharp blade. No using some green-scummed disposable relic that used to belong to the bloke you share a flat with. It's better to shave after letting the hair soften in warm water first. Maybe have a quick bath and then shave in the shower. Use a shaving gel (if you don't fancy nicking your man's/da's/brother's and having your personal parts lightly scented 'aquamarine' then buy the stuff designed for women), don't do a rush job with a bar of palmolive because it doesn't help matters. Shave with the hair growth.

If you're particularly dark haired and it really bothers you, look into beauty treatments like electrolysis. You can also get bleaching products to improve the post-shave appearance of the area. Beauticians can also provide treatment to lessen shaving rash (there was a leaflet about this in my gym changing room recently - I think it involves treatment with UV light...)

Hair removal creams can be quite good - they reduce the risk of spots, lumps, bumps etc. because there is no abrasive action of blade on sensitive skin!

Finally, you're not a professional porn star. Remember that neat can be almost as good as bald. In fact, you'll have more luck avoiding rash if you go for neat most of the time so that on Saturday night you shave hair and not stubble.

TBH just neat would be better than completely bald in a lot of cases - it takes a particular type of man to enjoy someone looking like a ten-year-old down under...
    Think Brazilian!

IMHO smooth it the way forward without question (on women)... ;) Enhances pleasure for both sexes due to extra sensitivity, and let's be honest here, there's noting worse than getting down to it for the first time with a new girl only to discover a bush resembling the Australian Outback going on down there!:eek:

I don't really mind whether a girl has long pubes or not - once they are tidy. OK, some girls like bald, some like a medium sized furry animal, some Braxilians, some racing stripes, each has it's attraction. It was not a nice experience to snag 'myself' while entering her.

One of the lads open admits to shaving and is looking for something more long term / permanent. He trims it down then wet shaves. He says it's a real turn on.
