If you cancel your subscription with Sky do you still keep the digibox and satellite because I was looking in the FAQ and it sys 4/5 of the channels are non-sub. It would be great to watch all those channels for free.

Yes, the box is yours. However you must be a customer for at least 12 months.

The free channels are fairly crappy. They mainly include all of the shopping channels and the religious ones. Most of the radio channels are free though.

Of course the imminent arrival of all the BBC channels will improve this somewhat come the 10th of July.

    Yes.
Unlike Cable /MMDS the Digibox, LNB, remote, Dish and cable are all yours from Day 1. If you cancel before the year is up you *might* be liable to repay Sky the subsidy. But it is still all your gear.

I was off sub over a year. Boomerang is unfortunately no longer free, but Cbbc and Cbeebies and all the other BBC soon will.

Unlike a UK cancelled sub, while you are out of sub, the sub card is best in the slot upside down (and don't remove it). Repower box at mains.

Reconnection is easy too. Put card in the right way up. Ring Sky and they switch on again whatever pack.

Family pack is NOT the cheapest, but cheaper ones do not do RTE & BBC (RTE you can get via aerial and BBC will be free soon).
