Hi, yet another question concerning this ubiquitos pairing.

I've had netsource for a few weeks now, based in limerick city exchange. I'm not at all happy with the service. Pings are a disgrace as most of you already on netsource, know. When I ping servers in dos the lowest ive seen is 62m/sec period. Usually its around the 78m/sec mark spiking to 290-350 even. In-game (quake 3) its usually 100-115 spiking to borderline 300. Now i know this is to be expected but ive ended up on servers with other netsource users and their ping occasionally drops to 50ish, ive never seen mine below 80 in game. I'd like to know is there any possible misconfiguration I could have in my router interface thats causing the extra milliseconds? I havent updated my firmware I have NAT enabled UPnP enabled DHCP configuration enabled everything else off bar Event log. I also have get DNS on automatic....one last thing is on line condition there are absolutely no errors and it says im on 1024/256k??? even though its meant to be RADSL?

    Thanks in advance.

I got this ping this morning with dsl 504 router on netsource. I use static IP's for everything on my lan computers, I dont use Dhcp or Dns proxy but I doubt thats anything to do with it. I have the latest firmware installed on the router

with your 1meg line and ping, it sounds similar to an Adsl service ....

Thanks for the reply ando, i noticed your pings on the bandwidth speeds/pings thread, kinda confusing. It could be that a lot of businesses are on my exchange but then again thats doubtful too. It seems to be fairly alright late at night, after 3-4 ish till say 10pm, then the **** hits the fan and pings are all over the shop.

Netsource told me there was a 'software' problem on the exchange and that eircom wouldnt be fixing it for several days......yeah whatever, its been the requisite 'several days' already.

I also think its an adsl line, interleaving is supposed to be high ie 50m/sec with that service or something?
